Every workbench needs protection for the top surface when doing heavy-duty work. The Sjöbergs Universal Anvil offers that protection. Made from steel, the 3/4′ lug adjusts to fit the distance (minimum 7/8″; maximum 3-1/2″) between dog hole (round or square) and the edge of bench.
